INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION CONTEST
LAVAGNINO 2007

REGULATIONS

1
The Classical Orchestra of Alessandria with the support of the Conservatory
"A. Vivaldi" of Alessandria, Piedmont Region, the Province
of Alessandria and the Extracampus TV, the earth's digital TV of the
University of Turin, in memory of the Maestro A.F. Lavagnino has set
up the fifth edition of the International Soundtrack Contest "LAVAGNINO
2007".

The contest
will take place in Gavi - Al - (elimination session) by the house of
the Consorzio Tutela del Gavi and the final evening of the prize-giving
by the Auditorium "Pittaluga" of the Conservatory "A.
Vivaldi" of Alessandria on Thursday 13 December 2007, within the
7th edition of the International Festival Angelo Francesco Lavagnino
"Music and Cinema".

Composers of any age and country can take part in the competition.

The juries
verdict is final with no appeal; the jurie members are:
Luis Bacalov (composer - teacher of composition of Film Music
at the Academy Chigiana of Siena)
Alojz Srebotnjak (composer - teacher of composition at
the Academy of Music University of Lubiana, ex-pupil of A.F. Lavagnino)
Federico Erminio (composer - headmaster of the Conservatory
"A. Vivaldi" of Alessandria)
Luigi Giachino (composer - teacher at the University
of Turin, musical responsible for Extracampus TV)
Fred Ferrari (arranger)
Luciano Girardengo (cellist - artistic director of the
contest).
The jury can also indicate, with a special mention, other candidate
plays of particular value.

The competitors will have to realize background music for a cinema sequence
of about 4 minutes, there is a choice of two which will be sent from
the organization on VHS or CD-ROM which have to be sent back within
17 P.M. of Wednesday 5th December 2007 (at the address mentioned
in the art. 7) with a sample of your completed work synchronised with
the chosen cinema sequence, together with the full score, undersigned
and the possible staccatos must be legible.

The works,
which have not to be bound to a specific line up, must be for a maximum
of string quartet (2 violins, viola, cello) and piano, considering that
the score must be pertinent and executable by the organic suggested
and playable with a small number of proofs (like always in these cases).

The competitors
entries will have to be received by Friday 5th October to "Concorso
Internazionale di Composizione "LAVAGNINO 2007". c/o Associazione
Alexandria Classica, Via U. De Foro 4, 15100 Alessandria and should
include the following material:
curriculum
vitae, 2 recent photos, name, surname, place and date of birth, nationality,
address, telephone and entrance fee of (euro) 50,00 to credit on the
bank account

of the Alexandria Classica Association via U. De Foro, 4 - 15100 Alessandria.

The winners will receive the following prizes:
prize
"LAVAGNINO 2007"
plaque, diploma and education grant of (euro) 1.300,00 and 1 performance
in the course of the concert season 2008 of the Classical Orchestra
of Alessandria and the composition of the musics for one of the "Specials"
put on by Extracampus TV, the earth's digital TV of the University of
Turin, within the programs 2007/2008.

2nd
prize
plaque, diploma and education grant of (euro) 800,00 and 1 performance
in the course of the concert season 2008 of the Classical Orchestra
of Alessandria.
3rd
prize
plaque, diploma and education grant of (euro) 600,00.
4th
prize
plaque and diploma.
5th
prize
plaque and diploma.
The winners will be then pointed out to Festivals and Production Agencies.

The entry
to the contest involves the unreserved acceptance of these regulations
and the winners should give an undertaking to attend the prize giving
and to perform in a public concert the winning compositions, which will
take place in Alessandria, by the Auditorium "M. Pittaluga"
of the Conservatory "A. Vivaldi", on December 13th 2007 at
21, at the presence of the juries.

For any dispute
bear witness to the Italian text and the case would fall within the
jurisdiction of Alessandria courts.
